Electrical Troubleshooting Guide

Lights Don't Work

Breaker Keeps Tripping

Lights Don't Work

1) There are 2 white clips on the drivers side by the rear lift arm, one at the top and one at the bottom.  If these become disconnected, the roof lights will not work. See pictures below. (Exception:  If you have a trailer in the Highlander series, the white clips are on the door side front lift arm, top and bottom).

2) There is a kill switch on the galley (unless you have a Highlander Series, then the kill switch is on the rear bed)See pictures below.  The kill switch must be depressed in order for the lights to come on. Sometimes the gas hoses or water hoses do not allow the galley to sit firmly on the kill switch, not making good contact.

Highlander Series Only
Rear bed must be out all the way.  Kill Switch is behind panel.

3) Check the breaker in the power converter to see if the breaker is tripped.  If it is, reset it.  Be sure to cycle the breaker all the way on ...Off then back On again.  See pictures below.

4) Check the fuses in the power converter in order to make sure they are good.  See picture below.

Outlets Don’t Work

1)  In every trailer there is a GFI outlet located in different locations.  Push the reset button on the GFI outlet and that should allow power back to the outlets.

2)  If only the air conditioner outlet doesn't work, then check the breaker in the power converter or the fuses. (The A/C breaker is 20 amp circuit breaker on the later model campers.)  See pictures below.

   a) To reset the breaker,  be sure to cycle the breaker all the way on ...Off then back On again.

   b) Check the fuses in the power converter to make sure they are good.

Breaker Keeps Tripping

1. If your breaker in the trailer continues to trip, make sure if you are using an extension cord that is no longer than 25 feet. Also it is recommended that you use a heavy duty, 10-3 Extension Cord.  Call our Parts Department about this item.

2. Another cause for the breakers in the power converter to continuously trip is if the campground that you are staying in is very crowded, the campground may be overloaded electrically and you may need to use less electricity. For example: Switch your water heater over to gas instead of using it on electric. Example 2: If you are going to use the microwave, turn your A/C off for a few minutes.
